Stephany Andrade is a student in the School of Education following the Combined Accelerated Studies in Education 4+1 track in attempts to gain a Bachelor’s in Applied Developmental Psychology and a Master’s in Elementary and Special Education. As a first-generation college student, Stephany was able to experience first-hand the inequalities of being a part of a marginalized community in the education system. Once arriving at the University of Pittsburgh, Stephany became interested in implementing inclusive and diverse teaching pedagogies and praxis to become an advocate for students in the setting of primary education. After interning with Hatch Partners in Play INC. at Faison Elementary in Homewood, Stephany came upon the opportunity to become the student liaison for the Center for Teaching and Learning. In this position, Stephany hopes to take part in advocating for students and influencing the overall learning experience for Pitt students.
