As Interim Manager and Teaching & Learning Consultant, John is proud to support faculty teaching at the University through consultations, designing and presenting training workshops, and course design and review.
John came to the Teaching Center with a wide range of experience over his nearly 30 years in education. This includes serving as the chief education officer, and senior scientist, at the Carnegie Science Center, where he also directed the Teacher Excellence Academy and the Center for STEM Education and Career Development. John holds an EdD in Instruction & Learning, with a concentration in STEM, from the University of Pittsburgh. He has taught at the undergraduate and graduate level for over 25 years, and is an adjunct instructor in the Physics & Astronomy Department here at Pitt.
