Dr. J. D. Wright earned his PhD in English from Pitt after a decade-long legal career in Pittsburgh; he earned his JD and BA from The College of William and Mary. He is serving as a teaching consultant with Teaching Support, where his interests include student engagement, student writing, and how those two domains intersect. Exploring and talking with others about pedagogy are intense interests for J. D. , who also teaches Behind Bars: Cross-Cultural Representations of Prison in the 20th Century with the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures. J. D. and his family, which includes two large hounds, Jack and Shiloh, live in Squirrel Hill.
