Cynthia Golden to Step Down, Effective June 30
Cynthia Golden, associate provost, executive director of the University Center for Teaching and Learning and center associate at the Learning Research and Development Center, announced her intent to step down, effective June 30. Michael Bridges, currently senior director of teaching support, will serve as interim executive director of the Teaching Center effective July 1.

The Provost’s Diversity Institute for Faculty Development begins May 10. The institute offers faculty the opportunity to increase awareness about diversity and develop skills needed to teach in a diverse, multicultural environment.

Message to Instructors About Changes in Masking Policy
We have reached a hopeful milestone in the COVID-19 pandemic. As of March 28, masking is optional on all Pitt campuses. While this represents a return to a semblance of normalcy, we must be thoughtful as we make the transition back to indoor spaces in which many will be unmasked while in close proximity to one another.

The Office of the Provost invites proposals from faculty for projects to adapt, adopt, or author open educational resources (OER) for an existing course. OER that support a culturally responsive learning experience are encouraged.
