Teaching surveys will be open from April 4-24, and faculty can add custom questions now through Sunday, April 3. Adding custom questions provides an opportunity to collect feedback about specific aspects of class.

• Questions can be added from our question bank or specially written to ask students about changes that were made or about something new that was added to the class this term.
• Our instructions guide walks faculty through the process and our teaching consultants can help with developing questions that focus on a specific area or topic. Faculty may schedule a consultation by emailing teaching@pitt.edu.
• This is also a good time to begin talking to students about the survey process and what effective feedback looks like. Our website offers additional suggestions for increasing participation and tips from our own Pitt faculty members on ways to encourage students.
• There are also Canvas tools available to help create personal email reminders, and faculty may want to share this two-minute video of a Pitt student explaining the purpose of  teaching surveys and best practices for completing them.
