The Provost’s Advisory Council on Instructional Excellence (ACIE) invites proposals from University faculty for projects to enhance teaching by fostering new instructional approaches, techniques, or activities that represent advances over existing methods to promote and support student learning. Proposals are due by Feb. 16.

Therapy Animals During Finals
Therapets will be on hand in the Testing Center (G-35, Cathedral of Learning) with a mix of therapy dogs, cats, and bunnies during finals week. Animals will visit at the following days and times:
- Dec. 11: 11 a.m.-Noon
- Dec. 12: 10-11 a.m.
- Dec. 13: 1-2 p.m.
- Dec. 15: 11 a.m.-Noon

As we approach Thanksgiving recess, finals week, and the end of fall term, here are some important dates to be aware of on Pitt's academic calendar.
- Nov. 20-Dec. 10: Teaching survey period
- Nov. 19-26: Thanksgiving Recess for students (no classes), all schools
- Nov. 23-24: Thanksgiving Recess for faculty and staff (University closed)
- Nov. 27: Classes resume (all schools)
