Overview

According to the Office of University Communications website:

“Websites published by academic and administrative units should adhere to Pitt online graphic standards. These standards ensure the sites properly represent the University’s brand to audiences and provide a consistent and familiar user experience.

In addition to the graphic requirements, sites must follow W3C Web standards and best practices. This includes consistent use of semantic HTML, accessibility compliance with ADA section 503c, and adherence to best practices regarding usability, including responsive design, for handheld devices.”

With this in mind, we do have some latitude to put our own spin on the look and feel of our site while adhering to most of the core requirements they spell out on their site. The guidelines here take those into account as well as providing internal standards for headlines, fonts, text, buttons, etc., that appear on Teaching Center web pages.
