Cynthia Golden is a senior adviser to the University Center for Teaching and Learning, where she contributes to efforts that foster excellence in teaching, technology-enhanced education, online and hybrid learning, assessment, and other academic support services.
Prior to her role as senior adviser, Cynthia was associate provost and the executive director of the Teaching Center and a center associate in the Learning Research and Development Center. She came to Pitt in 2009 after serving for nearly a decade as vice president of EDUCAUSE, a nonprofit international association whose mission is to advance higher education through the use of information technology (IT.) She previously held CIO and senior IT leadership roles at Duquesne University, MIT, and Carnegie Mellon. She is a proud alumna of the University of Pittsburgh, where she earned a Master of Science in Information Science.
