Charline Rowland is a Teaching Consultant for the University Center for Teaching and Learning at the University of Pittsburgh. She provides teaching and consultation support on best practices for instruction, diversity and inclusion, mentoring, and scholarly and creative initiatives in the Teaching Commons unit. She has taught and directed programs on teacher education faculty at several universities. She is a recipient of several teaching awards including ILA Jerry Johns Outstanding Teacher Educator in Reading Award, a Carnegie Scholar and a U.S. Fulbright Core Scholar. Dr. Rowland has published and presented on mentoring/professional development of educators, culturally responsive pedagogy, global issues in curriculum and instruction, and literacy leadership.
