As Assistant Director of Strategic Planning and Analytics Bobby leads the Center’s annual planning and reporting efforts. He empowers colleagues to identify, develop, and prioritize process improvements and new strategic initiatives through data-informed decision making. He utilizes tools like Alteryx, Airtable, and Tableau to connect, analyze, and visualize data across the Center’s disparate sources. He oversees the Center’s internal IT needs as well as collaborates with key stakeholders across Pitt on issues including technology-enhanced learning, learning analytics, teaching innovation, and diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education.
Bobby has been with the Center since 2015, including five years as a member of the Educational Software Consulting team. Prior to joining the Teaching Center, he was a Researcher and Writer in the Office of the Chancellor. From 2009-2012 he served as a political appointee in the U.S. Department of Commerce. Bobby earned his MS in Economics from the University of North Carolina and he holds a dual undergraduate degree in English and Government & Politics from the University of Maryland.
