Allene works as an instructional designer for Pitt Online. Pitt Online collaborates with academic leaders and faculty to plan, develop, and implement engaging and interactive learning modules for online courses. Before joining the Teaching Center, Allene worked for 20 years in the field of education, serving as an elementary teacher in the Pittsburgh Public Schools after graduating college. Then, Allene went on to work within the student services, training, program management, and curriculum development departments of various institutions of online higher education. She holds a master’s of science in instructional technology from Duquesne University and is interested in using innovative educational technologies to enhance learning.
