On March 2, our staff will host a Community Engagement in the Curriculum workshop in the William Pitt Union. This serves as a pre-conference event to the Community Engaged Scholarship Forum on March 3. Come learn about opportunities and challenges in doing community engagement work with students and others, and obtain resources that can strengthen networking with community partners. Please register online to attend. Lunch will be provided.
As we begin a new school year, we are pleased to announce several new resources and services available to the University community. The Mentoring Academy was launched in April to offer faculty the opportunity to participate in a program based on the National Research Mentoring Network curriculum. Trained faculty facilitators will lead the program, which will offer workshops on eight mentoring competencies over four sessions, resulting in a credential for participants. Read about the more new resources in this week's newsletter.
While Pitt's traditional in-person commencement ceremony has been postponed, the University community is coming together virtually to celebrate 2020 graduates on Sunday, April 26, at 11:30 a.m. EDT. The virtual ceremony will be available on Facebook, YouTube, Smart TV, and on additional social media platforms. Visit PittWire for more information on how you can be part of this historic gathering and celebrate Pitt's Class of 2020.
