We’d like to thank everyone who attended and participated in the 2019 Pittsburgh Regional Faculty Symposium on March 11. The event attracted over 270 professionals from around the region – and internationally — and gathered together talents and expertise from across the entire spectrum of higher education. Special thanks to Dr. Sarah Rose Cavanagh for offering the keynote address, as well as 13 different Pitt faculty members who where involved in the planning or hosting of a conference session.
Pathways for Faculty are educational experiences designed exclusively for faculty. The intent of Pathways for Faculty is to deepen and enrich the teaching practice by focusing on a specific aspect of teaching. Faculty are experts in their field; however, many haven’t had the opportunity to dive deep into teaching. Interested faculty may apply online for the Pathway of their choice. More information on each Pathway is available on the Pathways For Faculty web page.
Registration is now open for the Provost's Diversity Institute for Faculty Development. The program offers faculty the opportunity to increase awareness about diversity and develop the skills needed to teach in a diverse, multicultural environment. Whether it's expanding your diversity mindfulness in classroom discussions or designing learning activities that incorporate a variety of perspectives, this institute is appropriate for full- and part-time faculty that want to deepen their teaching practice. All faculty are invited and can sign up on the Diversity Institute's web page.
