The University of Pittsburgh's Department of Biological Sciences set out to enhance a sense of community among students in the Foundations of Biology 1 course during the Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 semesters. Through this Course Incubator project that utilized stickers, syllabus infographics, and roaming lecturers, faculty found new ways to think about transforming large enrollment classes. The annual Assessment and Teaching Conference will be held on Friday, Jan. 24, 2020. Faculty are invited to submit proposals for poster sessions that focus on any aspect of teaching, learning, and/or assessment in their teaching practice. Topics should provide examples of innovative teaching, such as classroom strategies, technologies to enhance pedagogy, diversity in the curriculum, or innovative approaches to teaching.
