The University of Pittsburgh will transition to the Canvas Learning Management System in 2020. Canvas will allow instructors to deliver content in a more organized way, communicate with students through multiple channels, and grade assignments for students with better tools, along with a host of other features. Recently, Canvas representatives met with our Educational Software Consulting team and our CSSD colleagues to begin learning how to best implement this LMS for the University community. Watch Headlines: Canvas @ Pitt video or visit our Canvas @ Pitt web page to learn more information about the resources available to you in the new learning management system.
The Teaching Center's Educational Software Consulting team will continue to host a series of Introduction to Canvas workshops each week in preparation for the University’s transition to the Canvas learning management system. These workshops serve as an opportunity for instructors to learn about Pitt's new learning management system in three 1-hour installments. Please visit our website for more information and to register. Upcoming Canvas workshops:
Dear Colleagues, On Saturday, we experienced an unspeakable tragedy in our city — as one headline read, “a massacre in the heart of Mister Rogers’ neighborhood.” We all know Mister Rogers would remind us of how many caring people there are in the world, and give us his mother’s advice to “look for the helpers.” I hope that in this time of sadness, we can all be helpers to each other. If you are impacted in any way by the tragic events at the Tree of Life Synagogue, please know that the University has resources available on the Pitt Cares: Community Resources page.
