As Pitt’s academic community considers how recent disruptive incidents affect our and our students’ daily lives, we invite instructors to familiarize themselves with trauma-aware teaching strategies. A trauma-aware teaching practice can help instructors show students that they are invested in the well-being of all members of their learning environments while intentionally infusing coursework with flexibility and resources for teachers and students to care for themselves and each other.
