New resources are available for schools and departments to utilize when creating assessment of teaching plans. An assessment of teaching plan template, research, videos on best practices for using OMET teaching surveys, and an FAQ are now available in our assessment of teaching resources.

Provost's Award for Excellence in Doctoral Mentoring
On Wednesday, March 31, seven faculty will be honored with the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Doctoral Mentoring, which recognizes outstanding mentoring of graduate students seeking a research doctorate degree. Join Provost Ann Cudd to recognize both the 2020 and 2021 recipients and to hear from all seven faculty on their expertise in mentoring.

Open Lab Assists Center for Vaccine Research with 3D Printed COVID Models
The Teaching Center’s Open Lab recently assisted the Center for Vaccine Research in their informational campaign about mutations in the COVID-19 virus. Using the lab's 3D printers, staff created a Coronavirus model and a COVID-19 spike protein for vaccine researchers. One of the models was used to illustrate the virus's mutations in a recent episode of 60 Minutes on CBS. Learn how the Open Lab assisted and read about the creation process in our latest blog entry.

Faculty Honored for Integrating Diversity, Equity and Inclusion into Curriculum
The Office of the Provost and University Center for Teaching and Learning would like to congratulate the winners of this year's Provost's Award for Diversity in the Curriculum: Thomas Akiva, School of Education; Kayla Booth, School of Computing and Information; Zsuzsa Horvath and Christine Wankiiri-Hale, School of Dental Medicine; Lauren Jonkman, School of Pharmacy; and Andrew McCormick and Dara Mendez, Schools of Medicine and Public Health. The award formally recognizes faculty's efforts in integrating diversity and inclusion concepts into their course and curriculum.
