Join us at the University of Pittsburgh for an innovative and transformative half-day Idea Lab event, designed to explore the potential of Generative AI (GenAI) in shaping the future of discourse-based pedagogies. This dynamic gathering aims to unite a diverse cross-section of the university community, including faculty, staff, and students, to explore and co-create the future of learning and teaching. This event is cohosted by the Learning Research and Development Center, School of Computing and Information, and the University Center for Teaching and Learning.

- Who: Faculty, staff, students who are GenAI-curious and want to be connected in with a community interested in leveraging GenAI to strengthen the quality of teaching and learning
- When: May 2 from noon-4:30 p.m. Reception with appetizers from 4-4:30 p.m.
- Where: Information Sciences Building, Room 316 (135 North Bellefield Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15260). Travel expenses from regional campuses will be reimbursed.
- Why: This event is part of Pitt’s Year of Discourse and Dialogue and is supported by a YoDD Grant.
During our event, Flashtalk presenters will discuss how they’ve used GenAI like ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, etc. in their academic work – as either an instructor or a student – regardless of how successful the attempt was. Join us to hear from faculty, staff, and students through 3–5-minute talks about their successes, failures, opportunities, and challenges when using GenAI.
