New faculty orientation culminated on Sept. 20, with a welcome reception co-hosted by the Office of the Provost and the Teaching Center in Alumni Hall. More than 200 new faculty attended for an evening of interdisciplinary networking with colleagues, deans, department chairs, and university administrators. Chancellor Gallagher addressed the crowd, stressing that the mission of the University has never been more critical—and challenged our new class of faculty to make the world a better place through teaching, learning, and knowledge.
