Spring 2023 Teaching Surveys Are Open!
Teaching surveys are open now through April 23. Student feedback is a valuable tool that helps inform teaching practices and course design. Encourage students to respond and provide detailed feedback. The Office of Measurement and Evaluation has resources to assist faculty with discussing the value of feedback and providing students with examples of effective feedback.
- Talking points you can use to discuss teaching surveys with your students.
- Read what other Pitt faculty members have done.
- The University of Michigan provides a nice guide for students with examples of specific and detailed feedback.
- Let students know surveys are open and where to find survey links.
- Create a unique QR code for your survey to display in class or send with a personal reminder.
- Dedicate class time for students to complete teaching surveys.
- Check the response rates of your survey
Research has shown that students are more likely to respond when they know their feedback is valued and used. Remind them that you receive anonymous results after the term is over and final grades are posted.
