Open Lab Cuts Ribbon on New Location
The Teaching Center and University Library System are proud to announce the opening of the newly renovated Open Lab makerspace in room 132 of Hillman Library.
Open Lab features 3D scanning and printing, laser cutting and engraving, virtual reality, vinyl cutting, 360-degree video cameras, and more. Through online and in-person training, class sessions, course-related support, and workshops, Open Lab provides the support and resources necessary for anyone in the Pitt community to incorporate emerging, innovative technology into their teaching or engage in exploratory learning through making.
The freshly unveiled Open Lab space features expanded work areas, a bright, welcoming environment, and plenty of space for hosting class sessions or other making-related activities. Open Lab staff are happy to discuss potential ideas for collaboration with faculty and student groups. To set up a consultation, inquire about training, or for any questions, please email Open Lab at open-lab@pitt.edu.
