Fall 2023 OMET Teaching Survey Information
Midterm Course Feedback
Early student feedback can provide insights for improving teaching and learning. Using feedback to implement change can increase student engagement and create a sense of belonging. Conducting midterm surveys, and acting on the results, has a positive impact on end-of-term feedback and response rates, improves student(s) perception of the course, and allows students to practice giving feedback.
Midterm course surveys are designed to be formative in nature, and results are only shared with instructors. Our Teaching Consultants can assist you with interpreting results and developing a course of action.
You can request a midterm survey for your course by going to your teaching survey dashboard between Sept. 6-Oct. 13.
End-of-term Teaching Surveys
End-of-term teaching surveys are open Nov. 20-Dec. 10.
Our teaching survey timeline lists important dates and deadlines during the survey period.
What can you do now to prepare?
- Include survey dates in your syllabus and provide explanation about why these are important and how feedback is used.
- Discuss what type of feedback is most helpful. Ask students to be specific in their feedback, focus on teaching strategies, and provide examples.
