We offer training for all instructional technologies installed in campus classrooms as well as those available for loan. Training is available during our normal business hours in B10 Alumni Hall, or in an office or classroom.

At Classroom Services. There should not be any cables left in the room before or after classes. The cables you receive from Classroom Services are your teaching tools for the classroom for the term. We will replace/recycle them for free.

Classroom Services operators are available during our normal business hours to solve your technical issues. Call our hotline at 412-648-2831, and we will attempt to troubleshoot any problems you may be having in an enhanced classroom. If we cannot resolve your issue this way, we may be able to send an operator to your classroom to assist you in person. If the nature of the issue exceeds our ability to repair it on site, a report will be filed with University Center for Teaching and Learning’s Classroom Engineers, and they will repair or replace the faulty equipment before the start of classes on the next business day.

YES, while supplies last. We have limited inventory and budget to provide this service for the whole university. If you have your own personal computer, please consider using it for teaching to ensure others who truly have a need will get the resources they require.

My Pitt Video Powered by Panopto

Equipment Needed:

My Pitt Video is designed to work on all Windows/Mac desktops and laptops as well as mobile devices such as iPhones, iPads, and Android devices. Recording performance will vary depending on your devices’ hardware. Depending on your recording device you may need additional equipment, such as a webcam or microphone. Classroom Services offers equipment free of charge to faculty, staff and students for educational purposes. Getting Started:

Follow these steps to begin using My Pitt Video:

Once you have logged in you will be able to download the recorder and access your personal recording folder, as well as any classes within CourseWeb that you are labeled as an instructor or T.A.. Faculty and student resources can be found on the Educational Technology Services website. NO. If you are getting a computer delivered to your classroom, you will not be lent an additional device for the same purpose.

YES! Every piece that was rented needs to be returned. Failure to return the equipment ON TIME may result in fines and/or being denied future rentals/services. Classroom Services will file a police report for stolen equipment.

The Registrar’s 25Live Pro system is used to schedule academic spaces. You can check that system for specific room schedules.

You can use our Classroom Problem Report Form to let us know the issue you encountered.

Yes! Please us our Media Requisition Form – Classroom Delivery form to let us know what you need and when you need it.

There is no cost when the equipment usage is related to course work/research. The manager of Classroom Services determines if an order is charged. Some examples are dissertation defenses, course projects, or compiling research.

For events not related to course work/research. Some examples are any recruiting event, promotional videos, student organizations, or departmental/group picnics. Payment can be made via cash, check, or university account.

NO. Classroom Services does not provide any legacy equipment support other than converting older media to a digital format.

Email classroomservices@pitt.edu with your stated project, project needs, and a roster of all the students who will be borrowing equipment. We can ensure the students are trained on the equipment and available for them.

Ensure your organization account has funds. If your organization is a registered student group at the university, you can place a reservation. Classroom Services will contact the SORC office for the account number to be charged.
