Pitt will fully transition to Canvas by the summer 2020 (2207) term. However, there is an opportunity for a limited number of faculty to teach a course with Canvas in the spring 2020 (2204) term. Because space is limited, submitting an application does not guarantee access to teach with Canvas.

Implementation resources from Canvas will be available to support early access participants throughout their course transition, as will the services of the Teaching Center’s Educational Software Consulting team and the Pitt Information Technology Help Desk. It is important to note that while every effort will be made to migrate existing content from Blackboard to Canvas, teaching with Canvas in the spring will require faculty to invest time validating content and learning the new system. Training opportunities will be offered, as will direct 1-on-1 support.
