Catchbox Throwable Microphones Now Available

Looking for a way to increase engagement with your students? The University Center for Teaching and Learning’s Classroom Services unit now has the Catchbox throwable microphone available for you to use in your classes. Instead of trying to pass a traditional microphone around from student to student to allow questions and input from them, toss them the Catchbox. When they’re done, they toss it back to you or to a classmate to further the discussion, making class much more interactive.

Watch our demonstration of the Catchbox in use and when you’re ready to give it a try, head on over to the Classroom Services page to reserve it for your class. We have two in stock so plan ahead.

I’m curious – how do you use this if a student has a physical disability?

Also, does this put more pressure on students that may be on the spectrum or have severe anxiety?

It looks cool, but I wonder about excluding individuals. Thanks.
