Certificates of Appreciation

Gabrielle Dean (l) and Aaron Graham (r) of Classroom Services received Certificates of Appreciation from the Consortium of College and University Media Centers (CCUMC) for their efforts to host the 2015 CCUMC Annual Conference. Gabrielle was also elected Chair of the CCUMC Leadership Special Interest Group in 2016 and 2017.

Chancellor’s Award for Staff Excellence

Blaine Walker, Manager of Academic Digital Media, earned the 2010 Chancellor’s Award for Staff Excellence. The award, bestowed by then-Chancellor Mark Nordenberg, is the highest award the University of Pittsburgh grants to a staff member in recognition of his/her outstanding contributions to the University or the community.

Blaine’s career at Pitt spans nearly 40 years, and in that time, Blaine has managed several media and production units within the University Center for Teaching and Learning (and its predecessor, the Center for Instructional Development and Distance Education, CIDDE).

Blaine’s award was featured on the Newsmakers page of The Pitt Chronicle on June 7, 2010.

Pitt Online earned the Blackboard Exemplary Course Award for four consecutive years! National College Testing Association Certified Test Center

The University of Pittsburgh Testing Center was named a Certified Test Center by the National College Testing Association in 2014. UPTC earned this distinction after a comprehensive self-study and thorough evaluation from both the NCTA Certification Committee and third-party evaluators. The commission concluded their review with high marks for the Testing Center, citing UPTC’s strong commitment to upholding measures of academic integrity and that the “center can serve as a model for the rest of the University.”
