It’s Pittsburgh Festival Opera time! A Gathering of Sons is a gospel/jazz opera with a storyline of love and redemption as we journey with a young black man, a white police officer, newborn child’s parents and some spirits in dealing with our biases and healing after tragedy.
Professor Peng Liu from the Chemistry Department reached out to our department after reading a blog post about our acquisition of an Oculus Rift developers kit. He had been working with a student on a method to visualize molecular structures in Virtual Reality, but had only begun to experiment with certain developer tools for the Android phone/tablet platform

The 2017 Provost’s Diversity Institute for Faculty Development was created to offer University of Pittsburgh faculty the opportunity to increase awareness about diversity and develop the skills needed to teach in a diverse, multicultural environment.
